The cost of prefab houses is relatively high. That’s mainly reflected in two aspects:
The first one is process cost. The construction process of prefab house requires complicated technology. The initial investment of R&D and production equipment of precast unit is very heavy required for the production of prefabricated components are relatively large. These investment pass on to the unit price of the components. Only when the size of prefab house is large enough that the output of components reaches a large scale can this cost be diluted.
The second one is logistics cost. Logistic cost is acceptable only if the distance from the factory to the construction site is within 100 kilometer. It's not a good deal if the distance is two long. In addition, from the perspective of the whole industrial chain, the connection between the planning, design, production, transportation and construction of prefab house is not very unhindered, which also adds a lot of costs.
So which is more expensive, prefab house or traditional house?
There is no doubt that the cost of traditional housing is much more high. The components of prefab house are mass produced in factories and installed on site, which can save a lot of manpower and labour force. The prefab house are economical, efficient and environmentally friendly. Each of these advantages can help to reduces the total costs.
