With the development of urbanization, there comes more and more steel structure building tasks, accompanied by the inevitable problem of the increasingly long construction time. Workers often have to work in the rainy days in order to keep pace and give the clients a satisfactory order. In winter, the pressure of completing the steel structure building project with both quality and quantity guaranteed become more huge. Today, our editor of ZXADTO will share you the issues which you need to pay enough attention during the steel structure building process in winter.  

Many problems would appears in the construction of steel structure building due to the big temperature difference in winter. If the steel components is made in positive environment but need to be  installed in minus temperature, the shrinkage of the components should be considered according to the difference of the ambient temperature range. Technical measures to adjust the deviation should also be taken in the steel structure building process. Welding rods shall not be exposed for more than 2 hours when using in minus temperature, otherwise they need to be re-baked, but notice that the number of baking should be less than three. If you meet snowy days or the speed of wind is above 6m/s during the steel structure building, protective shelter shall be set up immediately.

Do not paint the steel components when there is some thin ice on the surface, and so do the rainy or snowy days. Coating process test should be carried out before applying anti-corrosive coating on steel components whose surface temperature is below 0℃. Before painting, you should also clean up the rust, grease dirt, flash and burr on the surface of the component, and the surface should keep in a dry condition. Hot-blast air and infrared radiation is available to speed up the drying speed of coating. The specific drying temperature and time are determined by the pre-test.

In the minus temperature, non-freezing oil-based lotus root mixture shall be used between the contact area of the probe of ultrasonic flaw detector and steel profile. Unqualified weld joint shall be removed for rewelding. When checking and accepting the steel components which are made at minus temperature, the influence of temperature on their external dimension should be considered. Full-strength joint and the welds which requires complete penetration shall be total examined by ultrasonic inspection. Meanwhile, sampling inspection need to be made on other welds. The proportion of sampling is range from 30% to 50%.

When it comes to the blizzard, those big components such as pillar, girder, strutting piece, etc, should be corrected immediately and then fixed on the right position permanently to prevent unilateral instability. The component installed on the same day should be able to form a steady space system.
